Strong women of color who are leaders of their society are revered in all of the Americas. I had the honor to meet Julia Alvarez, the famed author of the historical novel "In the Time of the Butterflies" last November. I gave her one of your beaded butterflies in memory of her real female protagonist and also in honor of all female leaders who have suffered to do right. Thanks Dave!
